The area of ??Mount Batur is well known as a main tourist attraction in Bangli Regency. Kaldera Gunung Batur is estimated to have formed due to two major eruptions 29,300 and 20,150 years ago, and Mount Batur has erupted many times. The people of ??Mount Batur are the Trunyan. Although the entire population of Trunyan is Hindu, as is the case with most Balinese people, the Trunyan Hindu claim to be the original Hindu from the Majapahit kingdom. To the north of Trunyan is a village graveyard where bodies are not buried or burned, but are placed under a tree after a complex death ceremony.
